Karl Eriksson, who spent his career with Scandinavian Airlines (SAS), traveled the world throughout his life. During his travels, Karl was struck by the poverty that he witnessed.
In 1979, Karl founded SAS U-Assist in Stockholm, Sweden. The organization collected a portion of SAS employee paychecks and donated the money to projects aimed at helping people living in poverty.

Still active to this day, SAS U-Assist has raised over 3 million dollars that has gone towards helping people living in Europe, Africa, Asia, and South America.

Karl’s daughter, Anne-Catherine, was inspired by the tremendous impact of her father’s organization. Working together with her son, she started You Assist as a way to honor and expand upon Karl Eriksson’s legacy.
